Fossil Fuels refer to three non-renewable energy sources like coal, petroleum and natural gas. These are all convenient to use and power packed sources but considering some unavoidable factors the alternative and renewable energy sources are being developed.

The factors are:

 1) The huge demand of fossil fuel across the world is diminishing its reserves and going to run out in future.

  2) Being non-renewable energy and high demand, price of such energy items are increasing day by day.

3) Most importantly to stop its harmful effect on environment, developing alternative as well as eco friendly energy sources has become a must for the mankind for survival.

 

There are different substitute and advanced fuel sources as under 

 

Biogas or Biomass:

Biogas is a good source to derive energy from burning of woods, methane or by rotting human and animal excreta. It is a good source of energy especially for the developing countries.

Hydro-Electric Power:

The hydroelectricity is produced on the source from running water. It is another good source of renewable and eco-friendly energy.

Wind Energy:

A good and cleanest nature of energy source derived from the wind mills or the wind farms. It has a good potentiality to produce large amount of energy utilizing the wind power. To generate electricity GWEC has made a forecast that by 2012 the wind market would have a tremendous growth of over 150% globally.

Solar Energy:

We are aware that sun is the source of all energies excepting nuclear energy. In fact from fossil fuel whatever energy sources we receive on this earth, solar energy is stored in them. All over the world today different researches are in process as to how this most non-polluting and huge source of renewable energy can be used in an optimum way. We are able to derive this energy by the use of photo electric cell.

Geo Thermal Energy:

Geo thermal energy utilizes the heat energy that is produced within earth. The energy received on the earth by hot water springs and geysers. Many countries are making its best use for different purpose. There is a good possibility to produce electricity from geo-thermal energy with a very less pollution.

Nuclear Energy

It is a tremendous potential source of energy on the earth. A mature energy source but generates dangerous pollution and toxic effect on the earth. Different researches are continuing if the source can be utilized with correct solution.

 

It is highly expected that the harmless, eco-friendly and enormous sources of renewable energies will help us a lot to meet the future energy crisis.
