Carole Wright: Slimming World?s Woman 2011 in Pictures

A Southport mum Carole Wright weighed almost 30st (190kg) at her heaviest, has dropped 12 dress sizes and lost 20 stone or 19st 10lb (125kg) and 27in (68.5cm) after two years attending her local Slimming World group has been named Slimming World’s woman of the year.



In fact, 54-year-old Carole Wright was too difficult to be unable to perform simple tasks such as putting on her shoes or loading the washing machine. Carole Wright shared: “The last time I weighed 10st I was 10 years old. My life is completely different from two years ago.” And she added: “I can do all of the little things everyone else takes for granted, like putting my own shoes on, painting my toe nails and walking up stairs – in fact, I run up them now.”


Two year period is not too long time for normal people, but for Carole Wright, this is terrible days. Actually, during the nine-month period between January and September 2009, Carole Wright she left her house just four times that Ms Wright received a shock warning from her GP: “If you don’t do something about your weight, you’re going to be dead in two years.” After that, Carole Wright made an important decision that it was time to make changes and embark on a project of weight loss which would potentially save her life. Carole Wright attended her first slimming class in September and although she was shocked at her initial weight, she is now a trim size 10 and has never felt better. “Weighing almost 30st was a huge shock and I burst into tears. That was hard, but the group was so instantly supportive – as soon as they saw my tears they all gave me hugs and words of encouragement,” the 54-year-old mum revealed. The group gave her the confidence to overcome everything and since then they have become like family to Carole Wright. They have always supported Ms. Wright all the way through her journey.

Known as Big Carole, Ms Wright seemed to be unable to perform even simple tasks



In fact, the award-winning slimmer Carole Wright has not only suffered from weight-related ailments, but also has faced bullying and criticism about her oversize since she was young

Slimming World has not only brought her life back, it’s saved her life because sshe knows if she hadn’t lost weight she’d have been dead by now
