The Landing Page

Post from http://www.danieluk.net

In recent years, advertising has taken many shapes and forms. There is no doubt that the Internet has become an effective way for businesses to market to their customers. Many steps are taken to ensure that advertising efforts increase profit by attracting new and repeat customers. One very important tool in any Internet marketing campaign is a landing page. A landing page is basically a single web page that opens when a user clicks on an advertisement. A lot of time and effort are spent to ensure that people click on the advertisements they get them in an email, but once you get the user to click on it, then what? Getting a potential customer to visit your landing page does not always guarantee that that person will purchase or even show any further interest in a certain product/service. But there are steps that can be taken to increase the likelihood of a positive outcome.

The first thing any landing page should do is showcase the actual product. This includes attractive images and videos of the product that highlight the main features, which tell the customer why they need your product/how it can improve their every day life. Of course, the basics should also be covered in your landing page as well. When the customer finds out how great your product/service can be to them, they will now want to get down to business. Let the customer know what they need to know, but do not overwhelm them with too much information at once. It is better to hit the main points/features in a short and straight to the point manner.

Also, it is good to do so above the fold, meaning that the real meat of your advertisement should be visible right when the page is opened so they do not have to scroll down. The price, any kinds of money back guarantees, and a couple of customer testimonials are all good things to include here. To ensure your landing page is relevant to your recipients, it is always good to obtain accurate opt in email lists. These lists contain information of interests, which can be obtained when a customer participates in surveys. By utilizing this email list, you will know who will hold the most potential interest in your product. Repeat customers will emerge more frequently because they will simply appreciate your advertisement and the product because they will find it relevant to them.
