Here Comes The 3d

Post from http://www.danieluk.net

3D makes my head ache, although for a number of people it’s the most awesome invention since sliced bread or the DVD player. Many people have dreamt of getting high quality 3D technology in their living rooms for a long time and to be honest, the new technology works pretty well. But there still is the problem of having to wear the silly glasses to enjoy the experience. Luckily, the new goggles are much more comfortable and show the technology much better than the paper glasses ever could.

However 3D is not just limited to movies and TV programming. Video game developers want to be able to make use of the technology to make home video gaming even better. Is it just a fad or a clever gadget to get you to part with more of your money or is it going to be the next big thing that everybody wants? Well, whoever has the answer to that question is almost certainly going to make a lot of money, or at least save them a lot of money.

The TVs are already out in the market and they are doing reasonably well. People like the way the technology works and looks, but asking them to watch the TV constantly with the expensive glasses isn’t as popular. It can be tiring for most people no matter how cool the images look. But it might be merely a matter of getting used to the glasses and used to the technology as second nature.

Now, even more impressive is the achievement that Nintendo has made with their new hand held video game device, the 3DS. They have managed to bring the 3D technology to the masses in the form of portable video gaming without having to wear glasses. In fact the technology has proven to work so well, that they are even discussing bringing movies to the device.

What else that is nice about this technology is that it can be controlled with a slider on the side of the device. You control how much 3D your eyes and brain can manage. And if you want it all gone, and want to see the image in 2D, you just slide it all the way down and turn it off.

The only problem with the technology is that you have to look directly at it from the front and cant move the angle of view. that’s why the technology unfortunately cant be utilized on full sized televisions.
