Zolitics.com is set to launch its first webisode entitled “Moving Numbers” at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. The non-partisan Zolitics.com is the world’s first network exclusively devoted to the entertaining side of politics, with programming that includes a wide-ranging lineup of shows that are both hilarious and irreverent.
“Moving Numbers” is the fictional, behind the scenes story of the Bob Sanders for U.S. Senate campaign. The show allows viewers to follow the often dysfunctional campaign and the challenges they face as Congressman Bob Sanders (John Colten) and his wife Beth (Monique Parent) undertake the quest to make him Pennsylvania’s next United States Senator.
The show includes a talented cast of actors, featuring Peter McCain as Campaign Manager Jason Mahoney. A variety of well-known national political figures will make cameo appearances, including famed pollster Frank Luntz, The Atlantic Senior Editor Josh Green, and Democratic Strategist Robert Shrum.
In Episode 1, “Game On,” the audience is introduced to the campaign team, including the manic media consultant Robert Sinclair (Jon Briddell), the depressed pollster (Lou Weiss), and the beautiful communications director (Jennifer Fields). Immediately, tempers flare as the consultants are at odds with the candidate and his wife on whether or not to “go negative.”
John Brabender, one of the writers and producers, described the show as “part drama and part comedy. There’s a lot of absurdity built into the show, so it’s just like a real campaign.” Leslie Gromis Baker, one of the executive Producers, stated that there will be a lot of guessing as to who the characters are really based on.
