Top Seven Awkward Magazine Covers

Post from http://www.danieluk.net

Appearing on the front page of famous magazines is a pride of almost all celebrities. However, they sometimes make headline and receive criticism due to their awkward photo shoot on magazine covers. Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann and “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart are two typical examples.

Michele Bachmann

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann looked awkward on the latest Newsweek cover with a vacant gaze and a robotic smile, under a headline advertising the magazine’s story, “Queen of Rage”. It’s not the first time Newsweek has faced with conservative backlash for a cover. In 2009, the Newsweek also received criticism for its infamous Sarah Palin cover.

Michelle Obama

Since Barack Obama became the US president, the first lady Michelle Obama has been featured on more magazine covers than supermodel Kate Moss. She seemed to hold something during a photo shoot for the May 2010 cover of Conde Nast Traveler magazine in the White House’s Blue Room.

Levi Johnston

Bristol Palin’s then-19-year-old ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston makes headline as he goes nude on the February 2010 cover of Playgirl. The cover looks more silly than sexy with Levi’s glossed lips and strategically placed arm

Kristen Stewart

The “Twilight” star, Kristen Stewart, looks very uneasy on Vogue’s February 2011 cover. She seems to brace for a vampire attack

Mark Zuckerberg

TIME’s “Person of the Year”, Mark Zuckerberg, appears particularly awkward on the magazine’s December 2010 cover. The Facebook CEO looks like he poses for a police mug shot rather than a magazine cover

Ellen DeGeneres

Though comedian Ellen DeGeneres is well-known for her sense of humor and playfulness, posing in an oversized box while Oprah Winfrey towers above her on “O, The Oprah Magazine” is a little bit awkward

Aaron Schock

Rep. Aaron Schock poses shirtless for the May 2011 Men’s Health cover, exposing his sensational six-pack abs. However, whether the shot is really a good thing for an elected politician?
