iPredator Inc. Announces Internet Safety for Parents Comes to New York

Post from http://www.danieluk.net

Poughkepsie, New York (PRWEB) September 16, 2012

Online sexual predators, cyberstalkers and those engaged in cyber bullying have prepared for students returning to school looking to the Internet and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for their academic and social networking needs. The beginning of a new school year guarantees a significant increase in online usage, and most valuable to iPredators, a child’s patterned and predictable times of online and ICT usage. iPredator Inc. proudly announces Internet safety, cyberbullying prevention and cyber attack risk reduction tips will be offered to parents, educators and the community as children and college students begin another school year. Thanks to the oldest running newspaper in New York State (1785), the Poughkeepsie Journal will be publishing this information for their readers and citizens of the Hudson Valley.

Two New York State licensed psychologists have compiled their 2012-2013 “Back To School Internet Safety Tips for Parents,” and the Poughkeepsie Journal will be publishing a condensed version in a series of weekly columns in “Family Life,” located in the “Smart Life” section of their Sunday edition. For anyone not living in the catchment area of the Poughkeepsie Journal, Dr. Nuccitelli offers his entire packet free to anyone available at his Scribd Link: Back to School Internet Safety Packet for Parents (2012-2013)

Of the two authors who compiled these tips, Dr. Michael Nuccitelli, founder of iPredator Inc., has taken tenets from the fields of forensic sciences, theoretical criminology and abnormal psychology and designed a construct incorporating anyone who uses Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to harm, assault, steal from or deprecate others. His term for those engaged in these nefarious, malevolent activities is called iPredator. The definition of iPredator is as follows:

iPredator: A child, adult or group who, directly or indirectly, engages in exploitation, victimization, stalking, theft or disparagement of others using Information and Communications Technology (ICT.) iPredators are driven by deviant fantasies, desires for power and control, retribution, religious fanaticism, political reprisal, psychiatric illness, perceptual distortions, peer acceptance or personal and financial gain. iPredators can be any age, either gender and not bound by economic status, race or national heritage. iPredator is a global term used to distinguish anyone who engages in criminal, deviant or abusive behaviors using Information and Communications Technology (ICT.) Whether the offender is a cyber bully, cyber stalker, cyber harasser, cyber criminal, online sexual predator, internet troll or cyber terrorist, they fall within the scope of iPredator.

According to iPredator Inc.’s founder, Dr. Michael Nuccitelli, “Although I view digital technology and mobile device technology as highly beneficial tools helpful to society, I do recognize tools have many different purposes. When chosen for nefarious reasons, Information and Communications Technology are tools that become weapons.”
